Sameera started dancing about the time she started walking, and while she was utterly convinced that she was terrible at it, she loved it anyway.  It wasn’t until the revelation that even if a few individuals are laughing at you, everyone else is entertained; or admiring of your bravery, that Sameera really started to relax and dance whenever the mood took her.  Life has been a thousand times richer ever since.

Starting belly dance lessons at the beginning of 2006, Sameera found her dance name after many hours of searching and knew instantly that ‘Entertainer, teller of stories’ was exactly right for her.  She is one of the newest members of Troupe Lotus and likes to think that she combines her love of stories with her need to move to create appealing improvisational dances.  You will often find her dancing with a variety of props, including the traditional: veils, swords and canes; and the unusual: parasols, knives, and veil fans.  Sameera brings the darker side of belly dance to the troupe with a strong tendency toward gothic fusion and a focus on fluid, graceful movements that draw in and mesmerize her audience
