Sha‘abi:
Sha‘abi is Arabic and means "Dance of the People". It is danced not only by women but by men as well. It is the style of the "average person". The dance incorporates repeated earthy and strong movements, sometimes suggestive, always fun and energetic. Attitude is most important and reflects the Egyptian mentality of everyday people. It displays love for life and a connection with their country and national pride. Learn different combination that you can use to your own music to create your own Sha'abi improvisation, since this is danced predominantly without choreography.
